Producer Butch Vig took to Twitter to tell the world that the new Foo Fighters is done.

The tweet reads, "We are officially done with the new Foo Fighters album.  23 straight days mixing!  IT'S EPIC!!!"

Foo Fighters recorded the album album in eight different American cities.  The process was documented for an upcoming HBO series called Sonic Highway.

The show is expected to premiere in October.  The album should release in November.   The upcoming Foo Fighters album will be the Foo Fighters' eighth studio album.  It follows 2011's Grammy winning Wasting Light, which was recorded in Grohl's garage.

Vig produced Wasting Light for Foo Fighters.  He previously worked with Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl on Nirvana's breakthrough album, Nevermind.  Vig has also worked with Smashing Pumpkins, Sonic Youth, and Green Day.  He is the drummer of Garbage.
