Switchfoot singer Jon Foreman was injured in a surfing accident on Monday.  He suffered injuries to his face and will not be able to sing for a few days.

As a result, the band was forced to postpone a hometown show in Casbah, California.  That show will now happen on Monday, February 3.

Foreman says, “You travel all around the world making a movie and record built around surfing, and really push yourself to ride some really challenging waves.  So it’s more than a bit ironic to get injured in your own backyard!  Thankful that I’m okay – it could have been much worse."

The band released their ninth studio album, Fading West, on Tuesday.  Ironically, the album is accompanied by a documentary that follows the band members on surfing destinations.  The album cover features the band with their surfboards.

Foreman shared an update on Friday.  The singer says, "Thanks for the kind words & prayers - my face is healing up nicely. Stitches are still in, but there's singing to do... #FadingWest #CantSeeTheLinesCanYouRuss," on Instagram.
