John Lennon and Yoko Ono's 'Wedding Album' Is Being Reissued

On March 20, 1969 Yoko Ono and John Lennon got married in Gibraltar. Seven months later, they released the Wedding Album — their third collaborative project.

On Monday (February 18), the multimedia artist celebrated her 86th birthday by announcing that the Wedding Album was being reissued by Secretly Canadian in partnership with Chimera Music. The original record's packaging included memorabilia from the big day like photos, a copy of the couple's marriage certificate, drawings made by Ono and Lennon, and a picture of a slice of wedding cake, among other items. The labels promise a “faithful recreation” of the original, offered on limited edition white vinyl, CD, and digital formats.

The Wedding Album reissue is available for pre-order and slated for a March 22, 2019 release — just two days after Ono and Lennon's 50th wedding anniversary. The rerelease is one of many the labels have put out in recent years for Ono. They've also reissued 1971’s Fly and a pair of 1973 albums, Approximately Infinite Universe and Feeling The Space, along with 1968’s Unfinished Music No. 1: Two Virgins, 1969’s Unfinished Music No. 2: Life With Lions and 1970’s Plastic Ono Band.

Aside from the musical offerings, a movie about the couple's iconic relationship is also in the works.
