This weekend, Black Panther ticket sales ought to drop by about 50 percent. Still, that’s more than 100 million dollars and repeating as the number-one movie.
"This is perhaps the most important movie of this moment," said American Radio Presenter Toby Knapp, who has seen the movie as a guest of Allied and Disney's Marvel Studios. "I've also had amazing discussions with my daughter, Kyla, about what this movie means to our culture, our society and to pop culture today. It's that important."
Only three other films earned 100 million or more in their second weekend: The Avengers, Jurassic World and Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
The R-rated comedy Game Night, starring Rachel McAdams and Jason Bateman, could earn as much as 20 million dollars. The Natalie Portman sci-fi thriller called Annihilation will make around 10 million dollars.
