@NETFLIX: MASKED SINGER+DATING SHOW = OMG WE'VE GOTTA SEE THIS!!

NETFLIX has jacked the MASKED SINGER idea... added in some dating... and now we've got a show which exposes the idea of chemistry versus looks and superficiality and OMG is it incredible...

SEXY BEASTS. You will be watching.

A new reality dating show is coming to Netflix and it’s not like anything we’ve seen before. On “Sexy Beasts,” contestants transform into creatures and animals using prosthetics so no one can see what each other looks like. The reason for dressing them up? To see how real blind-date chemistry really is and have singles find love connections based solely on personality.

Netflix just dropped the first teaser trailer for the two-season series, which shows singles dressed as a dolphin, scarecrow, alien, panda and the devil, all while going on typical dates to restaurants, bowling alleys and such. The contestants stay in disguise the entire time and after dating, they can choose one person they want to explore a relationship with. Only then do they get to see what their date actually looks like.

The concept for the show isn’t entirely new. It’s based on a 2014 digital BBC series with the same name and premise. The U.S. version premiers on Netflix July 21st - at 3AM East Coast, BTW - with comedian and actor Rob Delaney as narrator for each of the six-episode seasons. Some Twitter users shared their excitement about the trailer, with comments like, “This is cursed and I love it,” and “FINALLY, a dating show I would watch.” But not everyone is looking forward to it, like this user who writes, “Even though we are in the midst of a global pandemic... this abomination of a show is the worst thing to happen.”
