So I'm thinking this morning...
... is it wrong for me to be scratching my head about why my significant other wants to decorate for CHRISTMAS... on Halloween?
I mean, don't pay any attention to the fact that Halloween is this Sunday - and FOOTBALL is on Sunday. No, it's not about me wanting to be lost in the bliss of the RED ZONE all day. Nor does it have anything to do with me wanting to be caught up in the shenanigans of football food and some drinks while monitoring my fantasy teams - and the Office Football Pool I'm in.
No, it's not about any of those things.
To me, it's about the fact that it's OCTOBER. It's HALLOWEEN. It's NOT TIME (to me) to be in Christmas mode just yet!
Am I wrong?
I mean, I get the joy of Christmas and the fun of the season. I get the power that the HOLIDAYS have to bring cheer, and goodwill. After the last 18 months, we really need it...
I just think it's too early! I mean, don't most people decorate for Santa... after the TURKEY of THANKSGIVING is being tossed into Tupperware bins as leftovers? Isn't this a 'thing' which should happen the weekend AFTER Thanksgiving?
Is it too early? I think so. But I also get that I've not been in a serious relationship since my last serious relationship and that's been a minute.
So I'm thinking this morning about holding my ground and saying, "let's decorate in November..."
But I'm also open to the small voice I hear in the back of my mind saying, "it might be time to start some new traditions with someone who you like hanging with and who likes hanging with you.
