Sabrina Carpenter is back with a brand new era.

The 26-year-old hitmaker dropped her seventh studio album Man's Best Friend on Friday (August 29), a 12-track project that serves as a follow-up to her Grammy winning 2024 album Short n' Sweet. The record includes the previously released lead single "Manchild" as well as her newest single "Tears."

Carpenter celebrated her new album's release on Instagram, sharing several photos from the studio throughout the making of the record and penning a heartfelt message about the process.

"How special to make something out of pure inspiration and zero pressure," she captioned the post. "I don't think I've had greater memories making something before. I made the whole record with 3 of my best most brilliant friends Amy [Allen], Jack [Antonoff] and John [Ryan]. And if i could turn back time and relive these memories i would."

The "Espresso" singer told fans that they had "so much fun" making the album and "you can hear it" in the final product.

"It's a real party for heartbreak, a celebration of disappointment," she wrote. "It's laughing at yourself and your poor choices as everything is falling apart, it's wondering how loyalty and love always gets you back to third wheeling, spoken sarcastically like a true 25 year old!"

In addition to the album, Carpenter also dropped official visuals for "Tears," a Rocky Horror Picture Show-inspired music video with a special feature from Oscar-nominated actor Colman Domingo dressed in drag.
